REDRUM grew up in Stapleton, Staten island (a.k.a Shaolin) and moved to section 8 housing in South beach where he was notorious
for beatboxing & Sparking Freestyle cyphers on street corners.
Downing 40 bottles of Old English, Murphy was known for his Irish wit
& comedic story telling. Struggling through poverty, He turned to
bombing the Streets with Graffiti to the point he was a wanted man by
the Graff task force. In high speed chases with the police , Murphy was
later picked up in a Narcotics sweep at the infamous South Beach Arcade
for Hustling. He gave up everything in life and stepped into N.Y.C's
Underground
REDRUM created a Buzz in
the Street/Underground performing over Two Hundred & thirty shows
(From performing in clubs, to time warner t.v shows, to
college/underground radio).. Recording on a Song with Rap Legend SLICK RICK
which was featured on Plantinum Recording Artist -"Vernon Reid" &
D.J Logic's Album Titled "Front End Lifter" , he toured around the U.S
For 44 days showcasing his talent in front of thousands.., he's featured on Major and underground mixtapes from
D.J Vlad , Coast2Coast Mixtapes & D.j' "Bedtyme 357".
REDRUM's in "XXL magazine" , "Rap Fanatic magazine", " LyricsIncMag" "music notes mag" etc.. , he's on the Movie sound track for indepenent Mob movie "Jimmy whipsers returns to mulberry street. He was picked as one of the few artists to perform for the First ever Bronx Fest" hosted by "Fence" with Hot 97 in
attendence. He's in the "Grind
Hard T.V" DVD with a snippet of him performing live in Manhattan..
REDRUM was picked as one of the few new hiphop artists to perform at
"the Stadium" in the bronx for the - "Old School meets New School Show"
- which featured Rap Pioneers such as Cool Clyde, MC Happy, Kid Islam,
D.J Lightning etc.. Redrum had the priveledge to pay homage to these
rap pioneers. REDRUM performed during the world Record Breaking t.v
show "morano vision". in 2005 REDRUM signed a two year licensing deal with
"Missing Link Music". In 2006 He's on the HipHop Compilation Titled
"Staten island, Stand up!" hosted by DJ G9D . In 2007 he Released his
single on MEKANIZM PRODUCTIONS. In 2008 he's on DJ Vlad's Mixtape
"Rock Star blends Vol. 2". in 2009 He's Featured on the mixtape titled "The Unholy Union" Featuring HIPHOP Artist "The Game" and Don Demonio. He's got Production from Platinum Producer "Mr. Porter" from Shady Records group D12 & Super Producer "Rocwilder" for his Debut album Release Jan. 21st 2010.
